ʾAḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn yaḥyā al-ʿAṭṭār is one of the famous narrators which having no ʿAșl or book, is mentioned in the ʾIsnad of many hadiths in the four famous shia hadith collections, as well as al-Shaykh al-Șadōq's works. He is not explicitly mentioned in Rijāl of Shia as a reliable narrator, making it necessary to refer to the general tawthīqāt. This article with analytical-'Ijtihādī method and consulting the viewpoint of Ayatullah Shabzendehdar, studies twelve general tawthīqs concerning this narrator. The author believes that five of them are acceptable, namely: Tarazzī of al-Shaykh al-Șadōq, being famous, tawthīq of al-Shahid al-Thānī, the reliance of 'așḥāb on narrations including his name, and being in the list of narrators of some hadiths approved as authentic by al-ʿAllāmah al- Ḥillī.
