Methodical understanding of the Qur'an and hadiths has been the constant concern of the jurists, and due to their frequent usage in religious texts and propositions, evidences play the most important role in such understanding, as the basic meanings of the words do. Al-Shaykh al-Ansari as one of the greatest jurists, has frequently utilized such evidences in the text of the Qur'an and hadiths. With a descriptive-analytic method, this article tries to discover, categorize and analyze these evidences. The results show that in al-Shaykh al-Ansari's viewpoint these evidences are: evidences of Siyaq, unity of Siyaq, Muqabalah, 'Asīl, Question, Reasoning, congruence between the issue and the ruling, and the predominance in usage.
